Q: Is massage therapy and acupuncture covered by OHIP?

A: Massage and acupuncture is not covered by OHIP, however, private and extended health care plans provide coverage.

Q: Are you all registered massage therapists?

A: Yes. Naturelife only hires Registered Massage Therapists (RMTs) and Registered Acupuncturist with professionalism and high standards of care.

Q: What should I expect on my first visit?

A: Your first visit will involve filling out a confidential health history form. It is suggested to arrive a few minutes early to do so. Your therapist and you will work together to develop a treatment plan for maximum benefits. Your treatment will take place in a room with safety and privacy. Your comfort during the treatment is our top priority.

Q: How will I feel during and after the massage? Will it hurt?

Your massage therapist will cooperate with you during the treatment by monitoring the pressure, so your body will feel relaxed and comfortable.
After a massage you often experience freedom from pains and aches. Sometimes there may be a feeling of slight fatigue. This may last a few hours but will leave you with increased energy after. Some patients who are new to massage or those who request a deep tissue massage for the first time may experience some muscle soreness or aches. However, this can be reduced with a warm shower or Epsom salt bath.

Q: How will I feel during an acupuncture treatment?

A: You may feel warmth, heaviness and tingling of the parts being treated. This is normal and indicates that the treatment is working. You may also feel drowsy and lightheaded after an acupuncture treatment. This can take a few minutes to recover from by resting or drinking water.

Q: Does the needles hurt?

A: Acupuncture needles are designed with rounded tops to slide smoothly through cells without causing damage during insertion. Some people may feel slight discomfort or pain when needles are inserted through some parts of the body rich in nerves.
